Hurricane & Emergency Info
Effective June 1, 2025, the High Point of Delray Beach, Sec 3 Official "GENERAL GUIDELINES - RULES & REGULATIONS" (rev/updated 6/1/2025) includes the following information:
AWNINGS AND/OR HURRICANE SHUTTERS:
- Must be lowered & secured when you are absent during hurricane season. (Hurricane season is from June 1st to November 30th).
- One opening (front door) must be accessible at all times.
- CLOSING AND SECURING AWNINGS /HURRICANE SHUTTERS IS NOT THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE ASSOCIATION, IT IS THE UNIT OWNERS RESPONSIBILITY. PLEASE MAKE ARRANGEMENTS WITH A CONTRACTOR/HANDYMAN IN ADVANCE.
- IF YOU ARE A YEAR ROUND RESIDENT, AWNINGS/HURRICANE SHUTTERS SHOULD BE CLOSED IMMEDIATELY AT THE TIME A HURRICANE WATCH/WARNING IS ISSUED.
- PALM BEACH COUNTY REQUIRES OPENING OF AWNINGS/SHUTTERS WITHIN 14 DAYS OF THE STORM EVENT ENDING UNLESS ANOTHER WATCH/WARNING OCCURS DURING THOSE 14 DAYS.
ADDITIONAL HURRICANE PREPARATION:
- All patio furniture and décor, plants, grills ( except propane tanks), recycle bins, etc. must be removed from the exterior of the building and stored inside your unit, NOT in the Laundry room.
- Propane tanks may be stored inside the ground garbage cans and/or brought to the Maintenance Shed with your name on it.
- Any motorcycles and/or golf carts are to be removed from the property during a hurricane watch and/or warning.
All High Point Sec 3 Owners should Update your Emergency Contact and/or Home Minder Information – this can be done by updating your Profile Info on the website or sending the information to the High Point Office via email or phone.
